W.D. My Book Studio recognize on PS3 - Blu-ray Forum

I just got a 1tb My Book Studio ext. hard drive by Western Digital. I converted it by my iMac into fat32 format so I could use it on my mac, windows, and ps3. Problem is the drive isn't appearing on windows or my ps3. I was wondering if anyone could help me out on this...any suggestions...etc. My ultimate goal for this is to have it hooked to my iMac by firewire and to the ps3 by the usb port since they have both on the hard drive. I've got a lot of media on the hard drive and I'd like to have it connected to my iMac and PS3 directly without it being unhooked.

is it even possible to have it connected to 2 things at once??

That is the problem right there...that HD cannot be a bridge...nothing can be..you will need to disconnect to from one or the other...

Ok...well I did the fat32 format via my imac. It should work on windows and ps3 but isn't recognizing it even if it is connected to one source.

I have a feeling your Mac somehow formatted it incorrectly. Try reformatting it on Windows, with something like Partition Magic.

hmm...I'd try reformatting it from the Windows PC and see if it recognized by the PS3 and then the Mac...that may be the issue...
