Default Can Blu-ray Survive?

It's always fun to read these sorts of articles with 20/20 hindsight...

I ran across this while surfing and thought I'd share it... In the article, it all but calls out HD DVD as having won...

No offense, but let's save the gloating for when BD's overtake DVD's. We've got a LOOOONG way to go yet.

First off that article is almost 2 years old.

Second HD DVD has already stopped production and it is done. The only high def format media now that is still in production is Bluray. I can see it surviving for a while because I don't see digital downloads taking off for a while.

Not gloating at all... Apologies if that is how it was interpreted...

I honestly didn't care which format won...just that one ended up being chosen...

I saw an old article and made the comment that it is fun to read articles like this with 20/20 hindsight and thought people would find it an interesting read with the hindsight we have now...

Anyway... Enjoy it...or not...

Personally I like seeing these old pieces and their reasoning for picking HD DVD. Though I like them better when the writer proclaims that there is no possible way Blu-ray can win, etc. This piece was fairly rational.
