Anyone care to recommend some gangster/mob films on BD? - Blu-ray Forum

I haven't seen too many mobster or crime movies so I thought, why not add some to the collection? So just go ahead and tell me some good gangster flicks you know of that are on Blu-ray

in that order... Scarface & Carlito's Way are both better than those 5 but not on blu

Out of those I've only seen American Gangster, is it worth buying on Blu? I guess Goodfellas is good enough to get too.

Goodfellas is an awesome mob film. It's my favorite of the bunch. I haven't seen it on blu yet but I've heard it has a great transfer.

Besides the ones named I would also highly recommend Casino it's my second favorite.

I'll probably have to check out Goodfellas then. I hear good things about Casino too. Anyone think Eastern Promises is any good?

By the way, this is one area where Blu-ray is well represented. Check out Casino too...terrific movie and BD.

No one has anything to say about Eastern Promises? I'd actually rather get that than American Gangster even though I've never seen it...lol

oh Eastern Promises is good too!

I recommend American Gangster last because its so boring, I went in with high expectations because everyone and their mom was comparing it to Scarface...and its not even in the same ball park as Scarface.

I forgot Caisno was on BD I'd put that right with Goodfellas... and Departed is one of the best movies of the last 5 years... id hold off on Am Gangster

Yeah, I saw it a loooong time ago, but apparently Eastern Promises is better, so i shall see. Definitely gonna grab Goodfellas though.
