Default Do Optical Selectors Work Just As Well????

My receiver only has one optical input. I already have my HD/Digital cable box going into that. Just bought a PS3. Will the Optical selector still provide just as good digital sound if I use one to run my PS3 and Cable box into my one optical input on my receiver???

Can anyone reccomend a specific one. I have been checking, however they seem to have some mixed reviews. I can't find any on monoprice.

Does your cable box have coax digital output? If so use that.

usually on older receivers, there is both a Toslink and a Coaxal connector
the problem usually is what it is assigned to.... IE: DVD, Sat, etc..
