Default Great game.

You will get owned at first, just practice and once you know the maps pretty good, you'll start owning, I suggest you get it, just because it's fun and highly addictive.... if you need a good Warhawk buddy add me PSN ID: G_PIG79.

I just passed noob status, but Im still not really good. If you want to practice, play your first games in ones with a red X over the cup symbol. That means its not ranked and won't count on your record. Once you get used to it, its great. I think its one of the best games ever released for any console.

Go here. It helped me a great deal.

http://www.warhawkstats.com/

This will help as well.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warhawk...Station_3_game)

Warhawk is available in two flavors, $40 download or $60 package at store (includes headset). You normally start each level as a military grunt with a knife and pistol. You can play in 3rd person mode as a grunt or hop in various vehicles (Warhawk - jet/hovercraft, tank, jeep, etc.). The game has no one player mode, so it kind of just dumps you in the middle of battle and it can take quite a few times before you can stay alive for very long.

What I find the most fun about this game is it keeps up with your military rank, medals, badges, and ribbons for various accomplishments. So as you play more and accomplish various activities (like performing 7 kills with a tank) you get promoted and are given awards. Promotions also unlock new uniform and customization options, so you can change how your grunt looks and the paint scheme on your Warhawk.

There are only a few maps, but depending on the mode it is played in, it can grow massive or shrink really small, changing game play and tactics.

There is also an expansion set available that adds a new map and a new vehicle.

Awesome game.

It took me a while to get good at killing people with the Warhawk, but after I mastered all of the vehicles and the rifles, the game was awesome. I loved those Tow missles!!!!

It takes a long time to rank up in Warhawk. It's also unusual in that you need to get points as well as certain achievements (Like getting a certain amount of kills by running people over with the jeep in one round) otherwise you wont rank up.

Killing with the turrets on the back of the Jeep also count towards the 4x4 Badges. Might make it a bit easier doing that as opposed to trying to run peeps over.

That would be cool if they Incognito made it possible to dismount those 50 cal,but then you probably will have to walk slower since it will be heavy.

I find it easier to run over people than kill them with the turret though. I would let you run me over, but I haven't played Warhawk since COD4 came out, then Burnout, then MLB08, I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TIME!!!!....lol

Default warhawk

One thing that is great about Warhawk is how a simple change of tactics
can easily freshen up the gameplay. You might find yourself flying around in a Warhawk or defending the same capture points all the time. But then it feels great when you go on the offensive and capture other points. As long as you mix it up it won't ever get boring. Same applies for the different modes.

Pelican170, The best players are the ones who are flying around in the air, but by no means does that mean you can't be a good player and avoid the air. Probably 85%+ of my time is on the ground or in vehicles on the ground and I often rank near the top of the players in a match.

The game is online only as you already know and there are no 'missions,' not how I believe you are thinking of them. There are four game types - Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Zones, and Capture the Flag - that you can play in Warhawk. Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch are exactly like any other game (first individual/team to get to XX kills, or the most kills in a time period win). Zones is a domination type map, where your team scores points for controlling areas on the map (the more areas you control, the more points your team gets). Capture the Flag the same as any other game - get the flag of the enemy team and return it to your flag to score. To break down Deathmatch/Team Deathmatch a bit more there is a Dogfight option (map layout) where it only allows aircrafts so if you are into that you're golden.

There is a nice balance to the game (for the most part) that regardless of which route you go - ground, vehicle, aircraft - that you can take out a person in any of the above, but as I said before you will see that the best players will be the one sin the aircraft. Once you learn to use them you are quite lethal in this game.

The game does pose a steep learning curve (no tutorials, it just throws you into the game and lets you have at it). Once you get the hang of it though you'll do well.

If you have any specific questions feel free to ask and I'm sure someone, or myself, will gladly answer.

My PSN is ShiggyPop if you wish to look for me online. If you send a friend invite include in the subject something about Blu-ray.com as I will reject friend invites if I don't recognize the name.

And a reply to the 6+ messages that got posted while I was typing this: I also got bored of COD4. I hit 55 and the games just seemed like the same thing over and over again, where as Warhawk seems like a different game everytime I play (the huge maps and 32 players probably have something to do with that... )

I ended up with negative points one time too.... if you kill the person on your own team when they are holding the other team's flag, then it is -25 points.... you must have had some suicides too.
