WOO-HOO!!

High-def Digets has a release date just listed today for The Proposition. If none of you have sen this movie it is a gritty, spectacular and brutal western set in the Australian outback in th elate 1800s. It starts Guy Pearce, Ray Winstone and John Hurt.

Man this is an awesome movie. Has anyone else seen this? Thoughts?

Yes, I am a big fan of Westerns and The Proposition is a very well-made modern Western set in Australia. Guy Pearce and Ray Winstone do a fantastic job. This is good news, thanks for the info!

It's doubly as bad when I'm excited.

It's jsut that the The Proposition has been one of my all-time favorite westerns and I have been so hoping this would come out on Blu. Soon (if you call 4 months, "soon"), it will be ALL mine.

Alright!!! This is awesome! Now we just need Seraphim Falls and 3 Burials of Melquiades Estrada and I will have every western on this millenium that I think was worth a damn (unless you count There Will Be Blood as a western).

Great point, there's not enough Westerns! Broken Trail (on blu June 10th!) and Open Range were also very good Westerns in this millenium.

I have seen a lot of title announcements the last two weeks. This is one that I will probably rent first, but it appears to be an interesting storyline. BTW...nice to see the OP happy about it.

I just picked this up today. One word regarding the PQ...WOW!! It is so crisp and brilliant and perfect for this most excellent, gritty, and brutal Western. Ray Winstone and Guy Pearce are amazing.

BTW, Best Buy is selling this for $14.99. It's not a sales price either, that's regular. This has to be one of the cheapest new releases ever. It made my day.

They have these little booklets lying around called The Insider, and if you have a Rewards Zone card, there's a coupon inside to save an additional 10%, also.

I think FirstLook Studios is setting a good example with this film. It sells for $14.99 at Best Buy and it has an above average transfer and lossless audio.
