Default Would you buy a Super Deluxe Release of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope?

The first and the best of the Star Wars series, A New Hope has received a single shoddy release on Blu-ray. Would you like to see it get the same or a better treatment as the film Blade Runner? How would you like to see it packaged? What would be included?

Any new release of Star Wars that doesn't include the original theatrical first film, I'll just have one thing to say:

No, even with the unmolested theatrical cut. I just don't care anymore.

Just give me the Original, Unaltered, Non-CGI Theatrical Cut in HD (4K would be nice, too) already, been doing this sing and dance way too long.

We already know that a 4K scan of the original film elements exist. Disney just doesn't wanna release it i guess.

They are probably waiting for the next movie to come out and then will charge too much for a 9 movie 4K ultimate set.....unfortunately I will pay for it.

Bought the original trilogy special edition on Laser Disc for $250 and multiple copies since then including the original DVD release from China.

There is rumor the 4K set will be coming out in 2020. This re-release is just an attempt to milk everyone one last time before that becomes available. I'm guessing this is just the same blu-ray that has been available for years now and includes a digital copy.

Such release would need to have something really special that I would want in order for me to give money to the company that murdered the franchise.

For now, the current release is good enough for me.

Theatrical cuts or no sale for me! 4K would be a bonus.

Has Disney ever remastered and released a movie that they were not originally involved in the creation?

Im sure they’ll release it eventually, there’s too much money at stake. I’m with the others that are saying it’ll be a 9 movie collection released next year.

From a business standpoint there is no need to release theatrical cuts or 4K right now. These new blus are the first to include digital copies, which will sell just fine I’m sure.

The real cash in for Disney, as others note, would be the 9 Episode Skywalker Saga 4K set, with no known date to release them individually. Throw in the UOT and it will sell even better. Then some years later they’ll wanna boost some sales and release them separately. It’s just business to them.

But if they were to release some crazy deluxe set for each individual film including all known cuts, then I’d sure as hell pick them up.
