Paypal is the payment system owned by E-bay for use over the internet. You verify a credit card, debit card, or bank account, and are able to use those for payment. It offers you protection against fraud above and beyond what your credit card offers. There are no fees for the person purchasing an item on E-bay, but there are for those who sell the item. Really the only fine print is what the user above me said. If you're selling an item, paypal takes a small cut from the payment you receive from the buyer. I prefer it over a check or money order.

i was just curious because i really want to keep my prime acct. on amazon and was wondering how this functions as far as getting payments to throw in on the acct. with me or me throwing in on someone elses?

Paypal has nothing to do with amazon, and I don't think you can even use it with amazon for paying for an item you purchase. It won't affect your amazon account at all. If you are using it to receive money for the amazon prime, I'm not sure how long it takes funds to clear with paypal, should be instantaneous I think? (Somebody correct me if I'm wrong). To send money to somebody else to purchase prime, all you need is their paypal account name (usually email), and you can just send them the money, or they would need your paypal account name to be able to transfer the funds to you.
