Default bought the UK blu-ray of Death Sentence and it won't play!

I recently purchased the UK BD version of Death Sentence since it isn't available in US except on plain dvd, So I figured I would get to see this movie in HD, NO! my stupid S500 won't play the damn thing because the movie has a region B on it! I was always under the assumption that BD players are region free. Nope! So now I'm stuck with this opened BD that I can't do anything with, Oh, the Uk has different bd cases then us in the US, they are thicker in width, weird, So does anyone know how I can watch this bd without buying a bd player from England?

Can you just return it?

Edit: Removed comment about e-mailing the guy to update his database. I thought the column was Region Coded but it actually says Region Free.

This can be re-set so you can continue changing the region, but you need to know the code.

On some machines you may be able to unlock the regions entirely, at least you can with DVDs on some players if you know the code.

Also, at some time in the future you may be able to download a program to read other regions as you can with DVDs.

Also, e-mail the guy that keeps up with that (http://bluray.liesinc.net/) so he can correct his database also.
His database has correctly reported that the UK version of Death Sentence is region-coded for quite some time.

Geez, you're right.

Sorry about that. I thought the column was titled Region Coded but it's actually Region Free.

Guess I'd better check on the titles I'm importing to make sure I didn't make the same mistake when looking those up.

Well, Sarge, I can buy it off for you for cheap since it has no use to any of your American peers. Contact me if you are interested in selling it at least so you don't have a new drink coaster. The shipping address would be in the US so no problems there.

^There have been NO BD machines where you can unlock the region, period. A coupon newline titles had false region coding where all you needed to press was 'menu' and it would work. That's as close as you get to 'region cracking' on BD.
In the time that BD has been out, there has been no development in region cracking other than a physical modification of the player (available in Swedish website, I believe - very expensive).

Keep that website bookmarked. It has been accurate on all of the imports I have purchased.

Yes. Although DVD regions could be changed by various techniques, I don't think there is a viable technical solution to overcome blu-ray region protection. I have heard of the Swedish hardware modification but have not read about any first hand experience about it.
