Default Target Expands Blu Ray Section + New Titles Added

So working at Target I am use to the weekly changes that I do in the Entertainment Dept. So Today came as a surprise when i noticed that the Blu ray Section was again expanding and the HD DVD Section decreased. New titles were added today (Not just my store, this is at least valid for my So Cal stores). Some of the new titles are:

Sunshine $34.99
Dragon Wars $29.99
Underworld Evolution $29.99
Goodfellas $24.99
Pixar Short Films $29.99
Patriot $24.99
Shoot Em Up $29.99
Terminator 2 $14.99
Fifth Element (Remastered) $24.99
The Rock $24.99
Con Air $24.99
Kingdom Of Heaven-Directors Cut $ 29.99
Not New But Price was dropped:
Edward Scissorhands $24.99 from $ 29.99

Those are all that I can remember at the moment. I forgot to take a picture but will upload one soon enough.

I knew I was forgetting something. And yeah that was stupid that it is 35, but we still sold almost all our copies by the time I left at noon...so not bad.

That is true, but Edward did go down 5 bucks so maybe this is going to be a recurring trend

My preferred Target has expanded Blu Ray to at least 10 columns (probably 12+) and moved HD-DVD down to just 2.

Yeah, any increase in the number of titles is a welcome change. Thanks for the info.

I stopped by Target this morning to pick up a few things and checked out the blu section. The HD DVD section had been cut in half, well there were only four rows to begin with, but now there are only two. The other two rows were given to Blu-ray. It didn't look like they had gotten anything new in and had probably just spread out the titles more. There were a couple empty spaces.

As for the HD DVD, Target usually only carries the newest releases. Soon they will not be getting any more new releases as it looks that Target has decided it isn't going to carry the Warner HD DVDs that aren't released the same day as the BD and DVD. What is the point of having an HD DVD section if you arent' going to get anything new?

To be fair, there isn't going to be much NEW coming to HD DVD anymore anyway.
