Default Terminator or Terminator 2 bd???

I am planning on getting some blu-ray movies from amazon even though i dont have a player yet (im getting one this month). So i already have decided on picking up

Sunshine-19.99
Tears of the Sun-14.95
Edward Scissorhands-14.95
I Am Legend-24.95

now i want to get one more bd and its between Terminator and Terminator 2. Now i love T2 and i havn't seen Terminator for a long time. I was wondering which one has the better pq. Now i know i can look at some reviews but considering that T2 was an early release people didn't really know how good it could look (POTC) so i wanted some of you guys to tell me what you thought of the PQ and AQ and which one is better.

T2 looks pretty good for it's age. HOWEVER it is not the extended cut of the flim only the theatrical release (so, I have to keep my DVD for now). I did not relize it when I got it, and if it did I would have waited on the blu. I can not speak to the 1st film

I WAS happy with the PQ and AQ of T2. Want to make sure I'm clear.

most people forget how old Terminator is....I think its from 1984 or around that time, so it looks old and kinda funny....but never the less its a good movie.

T2 on the other hand broke new grounds as an action flick, definitely better plot, more action and suspense, plus the acting and the characters and story are better overall.

I have all 3 Terminator movies, but the first one I bought was Teminator 2, my only beef with it is that it does not have lossless audio, however the PQ was noticably better than the DVD, so atleast the movie got a decent video transfer. Teminator 2 has been released, re-releases, and re-re-re-re-re-re-released a gazillion times with 15 different editions, collectors series, special edition, extended cut, director's cut...I mean it's ridiculous how many times Lionsgate tried to milk the T2 cash cow...so expect to double-dip when Lionsgate decides to release the newer and better edition. It was recently released on HDDVD by another studio in Europe, and thay HDDVD version of the movie is supposed to be the HolyGrail of all T2 editions. So I am sure Lionsgate is gonna want in on that edition and will port it to BD in the future....so go figure

If your only going to get one I'd get the original. The action is raw and pure. The film has a grittier feel and this comes across in the transfer. I must also say that Terminator is a sharper transfer than T2 on bluray.

I love both films but I can't justify buying a bare bones T2 with a subpar transfer when you know another ultra badassss edition is just around the corner.

I really liked The Terminator on BD. The Transfer did look great. but I probably won't by T2 on BD, cause I already own the dvd.

lack of the extended on t2 was a disappointment. dont have t1 on blu. but i believe double dipping is unavoidable for the impatient like me.

The current Terminator BD is very good considering the source material. The current Terminator 2 BD will almost definitely be double dipped with a much better edition. Lionsgate likes releasing titles over and over again.

I'm not re-buying any of the Terminator films on BD until they release them with lossless audio, and all the extras (extended cuts, deleted scenes, etc).

With the new Terminator film on the way to theaters, you know better Blu-ray releases are coming to capitalize on it.
