Default Samsung BD-P1000 Disc Loading Issues

Hi. I'm a first time poster...long time reader. I have had a Samsung BD-P1000 since December 2006 (early adopter), and my player has been everything I could ask it to be - until recently. Nowadays, no matter what tye of disc I'm trying to load (standard DVD or Blu-Ray), I keep getting the "No Disc" message on the screen. It does this for about 10 minutes as if the player is going through it's "warm up" period, and then a disc can load completely fine. Has anyone see/heard about any problems like this with this player? Are there any solutions? I reall want to upgrade my player, but I'm trying to wait patiently until the Profile 2.0 players hit the market. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Welcome to the forum.
my blu-ray player is from last year (2007). have you tried upgrading the firmware? that being a first gen. player not sure that would work.

I see they have a 2/29 firmware release for my player. I'll try this and see what happens...the sad part is that it will take about 30 minutes for me to apply it because the player won't recognize the disc once i burn the image to it LOL

Default F/W Update Successful

Needless to say, afer the F/W update movies are loading fine now that the player has "warmed up". I will have to test it tomorrow once the player has gotten cold again from sitting idly.
