Hello everyone,
I just set up my new home theater system but ran into a couple problems. First off, my subwoofer is powered on but getting no kind of bass at all or anything. Second, the picture seems to be normal and not that good. The sound is great, but my tv keeps showing that its in 480p and I can't change it. I went to the settings where it says detect HDMI devices, but says there are none connected, but everything is hooked up and watching a movie as we speak. Running HDMI cables from my PS3 to my reciever and HDMI out from my reciever to TV. Any help would be most appreciated. My equipment I'm using is below. PS3- Blu Ray player Reciver- onkyo TX-SR805 Sony Bravia 46' LCD V Series Yamaha subwoofer Phoenix gold HDMI cables Thanks again, Tony ![]() |

try connecting the oem cables first. if it asks you if you want to use hdmi thats detected say no. i have had this issue before and get around it by denying then after complete boot up manually setting the settings. make sure your sub is connected to the correct input. refer to your manual. edit: think i misunderstood. was reading as your receiver not detecting hdmi. think im spending too much time online ![]() Last edited by un4gvn94538; 03-17-2008 at 09:02 PM. |

Check the PS/3 configuration.
Under Sound pick all the 5.1 types of outputs Under cabling pick HDMI instead of component and RCA and the like. If there is a choice of BitStream vs Linear PCM, I'd suggest Linear PCM. Some movies even if they use a subwoofer don't use it for the whole movie. The subwoofer might be idle until that point in the movie. |
