Default Just 1 more hr!!!!

I did it! Today I bought my PS3! However I did so on my lunch break, and I am I dying for the clock to tic toc on 5pm so I can go home and hook it up to my TV's (26in 720p Samsung, 96in Optoma HD70 projector)
I thought I could wait till another price drop(failed) I at least thought I could wait till June 12 for the MGS4 Bundle.(failed again!)
What was holding me back was the fact that i am super cheap and didnt want to spend the cheese, so a few months ago I started doing odd jobs, online surveys, and focus groups and rasied $250, then a couple weeks ago I applied for the Sony visa to get the $100 credit. The Card finnaly came in the mail when i was out of town this past weekend,(of course) So I made a trip to the Sony Store today during lunch!

Thanks to the folks on this forum, i was able to buy COD4 for $39.00 @ Kmart a couple weeks ago. And PlanetEarth (to keep the wife happy) for 49.99 @ best buy today. And i also pre-ordered the Dual Shock 3 on amazon a few days ago. So I am pumped to hook everything up soon!!!!

My wish list for 08
Dual Shock 3
MGS4
Madden 09 (Pending a legit franchise mode)
Tom Clancy's EndWar
Gran Turismo 5

Trust me, i was very curios as well. There are sites online which tell you who to trust, and who to not trust. I only use sites that pay either cash via check or paypal, or pay via Amazon Certificates(same as cash to me!) You won't make money to pay rent, but you can crank out an effortless $40 bucks a month working on surveys insted of watching tv comercials.

You should have booked a vacation day prior to your purchase. That's what I did. I had booked the Friday that the PS3 launched and the Monday off two weeks in advance. That was a great impromptu long weekend!

Dude that's awesome! Congratulations! I know everybody here remembers how excited they were when they first got their setup.

If you're into fun racing, you should definitely add in Burnout Paradise. I hate Gran Turismos because they're boring to me, but Burnout Paradise is a great game in the line of the incredible Burnout series. Hopefully they'll add in crash mode again when they release the downloadable content!

Welcome! I'm a newb too as of about 2 weeks ago.

Let me tell you Blu-Ray is a slippery slope! lol... I remember how crazy I was when DVD first came out... let me just say, Blu-Ray is worse! I've got 6 Blu's over the past week.

And you've come to the right place! Thanks to the posts on these forums, I haven't paid full price for ANY of them.

BTW... Assassin's Creed can be had at Target (and now Amazon) for $39 this week!

Don't laugh, I'm proud to say there have been many a disc that I just pop in and say: "Wow... That's pretty". The clarity and color differences show up even on the tube TV. In fact a couple days after I got my launch PS3, I moved to a place that only had a 13" tube... bought a copy of "The Last Waltz"... and STILL saw a difference... I've been rebuying BD's ever since. I preach the benefits of Blu on SD TV's any chance I get.

Best Performers:
Blazing Saddles
Blade Runner
David Glimour: Remember that Night
Dogma
5th Element
Harry Potter 1-5
Life of Brian
Reservoir Dogs
Shoot 'Em Up
Spiderman 1-3
Sunshine
2001

Looking to get a 52XBR4 soon, but for now... BD on SD still kicks A-S-S.

Cheers, Doc.
