It is absolutely possible and thats the best part and sole reason why I purchased PSP. I am out in europe but I can check my PS3 and its contents from here.
Now, how cool is that?

Yes, but as long as the PS3 is on standby you can turn it on from wherever you are. (you can also turn it off again...)

who knows, the reason i asked is because if i was in europe i wouldnt want to have to keep my ps3 turned on, a waste of power. But if by having it on standby you mean that the red off light is on, and you can turn it off and on then that is awesome

by the way, to the credit of the original poster the search function on this site will exclude psp from the search because it is to small, so the results are no good

yes its possible! you can watch divx(xvid) directly to the PSP. you can also stream media from your PC to PS3 to the PSP, cuz PS3 is a powerful machine. for gamer, you can also play PS1 Disc from the PS3 to your PSP, but it'll not work with PS2(PS3) Disc.

How does it work. Do you just use the PSP as a controller?

PSP actually loads it up like magic. You can play on the PSP with the tiny screen.

The controls become more or less responsive depending how strong the WiFi link is and how you've got the video-stream quality/control response settings.
