Default Trying new games

Has anyone else found they are trying out alot more different games on PS3 then they are on PS2.

See with the PS2 I stayed mainly to the games i knew about (GTA, Bond games ect) but with PS3 I'll buy practically any game and give it a try. In my first year and a half with my PS2 I only had 3 games with the PS3 I already have 8.

Anyone else done this?

Sorry can't say that I have, I only buy games that I'm interested in. Once in a while I may pick up a game that’s on clearance for $19.99 or less to give it a try, but never full price

Maybe at a lower price. I think $60 is too much to risk on a bad game, but thats just me, I like to pay my Visa in full every month.

Yup, I feel the same way.

It's because of the HD graphics. I feel like playing many type of the games. I usually stick with action adventure genre, now I'm excited over Uncharted or GT5 Prologue or Unreal Tournament

Never really did PC games other that stuff like sims and RC tycoon and C&Cs. I mainly dont like comps because theres so many possible errors and compatibility issues

I have. I'm more of a fighting games person, but since PS3, I have played several shooters like Resistance and Uncharted. I don't play car games either, but I am intrigued by Motorstorm and the upcoming GT5.

Downloadable games are allowing me to play small things I'd probably not have bought bundled together on a disk at retail with other games not to my taste bumping the overall price up.

I find I try games more now at least through the demos on the playstation store. Being able to try most games, or at least the big ones before I buy has allowed me to try some guys I owuldn't have. Like Ratchet and Clank, I would have never even considered buying probably, but now it's on my want list due to the demo.

I know what you mean.... I have already bought 6 PS3 games and I have had the unit since December! I think its the HD graphics.... whatever it is, I'm hooked. I'm going to Gamestop after work today so that I can pick up Hot Shots Golf 5!

I find its the opposite with me, I use to have more money, I would buy more unusual games, and more open minded.. As I got older money is more precious now I find my purchasing choices to be a little different.

I hear ya. I find myself buying more than I used to as well. Im also older now and better financially set than when the psx and ps2 first came out.

Now is a great time to catch up on some ps2 games you may have missed. the beauty of it is they're all cheap as hell too. heres a list of games you should buy if you missed them last gen.
Im sure people could add to it as well.

God of War 1 and 2
Shadow of the Colossus
Final Fantasy 10
Tomb Raider Anniversary and TR: Legend
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time/Warrior within/Two Thrones
Resident Evil 4
Metal Gear Solid 2
Okami
Ratchet and Clank Series (all of them)
Wipeout Fusion

But there so ugly now.. there not worthy to be played in high definition.

JOKING DONT HURT ME!!

Shadow of the Colossus
Metal Gear Solid 2

Were the only ones that I found worthy to own,
the others I do not intend to own.

After the hyrda demo I decided I didn't like god of war,
FF is dead to me,
After RE2 the series ended for me...
Okami is fresh but not my style..

I had never played God of War, so I purchased 1+2 when I got my PS3 last year.

Finally got around to playing GoW 1 and finished it. That was a great game. Lots of story, thought, etc.

Hope GoW 2 is just as good.

And I've got the Metal Gear Essentials pack coming too. I haven't played any of those games (1st one very little). I need to get ready for June.

Might be me, but having the 60g model makes me want to pick up some PS2 titles for some reason.

yes, this has happened to me. The only RPG I ever played up until PS3 was KOTOR (I like Star Wars thats why i got it).

I picked up Oblivion for PS3, but really didn't care that much for it in the long run.

Resistance was the first shooter I ever got really into, I played Halo, CoD, MoH, but never got too into them.

I had never played a Ratched and Clank game before (I was an Xbot last gen).

I had never played a God of War before

I had never played Metal Gear Solid before.

Had a lot of good gaming with my Triple.

If you guys are wondering what I played before it was sports games, GT (only reason I had a PS2), and anytype of Star Wars game.

This is exactly how i feel, on ps2 i only bought big AAA's game's. like silent hill, final fantasy, bully, mgs, ect. but now i want to try everything. well not everything, but anything thats good LOL. its the same thing with blu-ray, with dvd's i only got the blockbuster title's. but with BD, im trying out movie's i would have never bought before. like NCFOM and i love it!. but back on topic, and speaking of trying new things, anybody played condemned yet? is a buy?.
