Default Have you ever seen any cool feature on any BD?

I have a few Blu ray movies, quality is great, sound is amazing.. but as for any innovative and cool features.. i have seen nothing so far...

Any of you blu ray fans seen anything worth seeing?

Thx

The Blu-Ray version of Enchanted includes an Interactive Game called "D-Files". The game uses BD-Java to integrate trivia challenges throughout the film that tests you on all of the various references to past Disney films. When you answer a question correctly, you are treated to various clips, several which play homage to past Disney films.

Not my favorite movie, but I did like how this special feature integrated with the movie nicely.

In the same vein, Cars has an integrated game within the movie as well. Find the cars as you see them within the movie and you unlock them in a virtual "garage" where you can look at them, get facts about them, etc.

And both Cars and Ratatouille have that Cine-view thing where you can choose what bonuses and extras you want to see as the film is rolling (deleted scenes, etc.)

Ok but is it something very cool? are those feature really amazing that you put in your blu ray and use them?

It seems hollywood misses some originality.. i'm sure people could make something more usefull on some future blurays...

You are thinking of Dead Man's Chest. Something I thought was actually nice was the PiP feature on RE: Extinction. I didn't find it annoying at all, and when I turned it off, I found myself putting it back on. Some parts were interviews and others were sketches. Another nice feature is on Close Encounters where if you pick a certain version of the film, you can select an option that will show what part of the other cuts of the film were added or taken away. Then there are the Disney interactive games on Chicken Little and Meet The Robinsons I have yet to try out.

I actually played the game as soon as I got the movie. I watched the movie 2 days later but the game was interesting.

"Cool feature" is a realtive term. Thus far, I've been most impressed with super simple menus. The Halloween and 2001 menus come to mind.

I guess I'm easily amused.

My main requirement is excellent video and audio quality. Also good quality movie transfers.

In addition, a mandatory requirement for me is the ability to reposition subtitles, so that they can be moved out of black bars. This is very important for the subtitle readers to watch the movie as they would like to watch. For example, to zoom-out black bars or use a scope screen which doesn't show black bars.

In F4 ROTSS, there's a game of questions where you have to stop Galactus from destroying the earth with some comic covers appearing, found it cool, and much better than what PiP brings.
