Default D-Box?

Does anyone have any experience with D-Box? Since it's been available on a few new releases (The Game Plan and I saw the icon on Independence Day as well), I was wondering what it's like.

In a word, awesome! The chairs with the built in actuators are much better than the adapters for the standard furniture. If you can afford it, they are nice!

Now if you can just adjust those chairs to react to all my PS2/PS3 games' rumble features!

I experienced it at CES. The demo for the general public was using standard home theater seating with the adapter actuators, and while watching Ice Age, it wasn't that impressive. But when they brought myself and Bill Hunt into the VIP trailer, it was a completely different experience. They showed the rollercoaster scene from The Polar Express and it was sweet! We both agreed that it was a great experience, but that it was far too rich for either of us to consider.

In the words of Ferris Bueller, "It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."

Yeah...the money is an issue, I probably should put other things like living on the priority list above this, hehe.

I'd love to have a demo of it myself though.

Many, if not all, of Fox titles are encoded for D-Box. Here is a link to the website and a video.

I read the info on the links. So with D-Box, the seats actually move like a motion simulator? That is SICK (in a good way). I can only imagine how many times someone tossed a drink during especially active motion sequences.

One should try:

Spider-man 2: elevated train battle
MI:3: bridge attack
Matrix Reloaded: freeway chase

Whoa!

D-Box makes motion-simulator / tactile effects chairs. Each chair is controlled by a set of codes that are programmed to respond to the movie. It goes way beyond bass-shakers.

I'm using the PS3's browser and I can't view the video. Is it something like Star Tours at Disneyland though? That would be awesome with a movie that makes use of 3D glasses! I know, I'm dreaming, but so what, it would be cool!

Why do I have a feeling that William Castle is checking out D-Box from the after-life w/ an ear-to-ear grin on his face?
