Default 155" OLED Spotted!!!

Check out THIS Mitsubishi 155" OLED that was shown in Japan recently. Too bad the lifespan is still around 20,000 hours, but I figured there would be some interest in this beauty. There's a link for a YouTube video showing the set on the page I posted. Enjoy!

The article states 20,000 hours is 2.5 years of "Normal everyday use" what??? It's almost 7 years if you watch 8 hours a day EVERY DAY of the year..... does anyone really need a longer lifespan than 20,000 for a T.V.?

Depends on how much it costs.

That is pretty cool though. I wonder how many blocks it takes to reach 1920x1080.

I don't know man. Somehow I think the 20,000 hour thing is the optimistic belief. LOL. Even if it really would last that long wouldn't it have the half life dimming issue like other TV's? How dim would it be at 10,000 hours...or 5,000 hours at that?

I'm kind of curious how many hours I've put on my tv. It's almost 3 years old and I would say it gets watched for at least 6 hours almost every day that I've had it and it hasn't shown any signs of death yet.

LCD's are normally rated at half-life. If the rating is 100,000 hours then that means it will reach half brightness at 100,000 hours of use. You will most likely never reach anywhere near that point, so don't even worry about it. You will probably replace the TV well before you would begin to see any difference in brightness.

they are talking also about being able to use it for advertising outdoors, so I would imagine it would run 24/7

Maybe it's rated that way for commercial purposes as in a mall or other public place it would be on much longer?
