Assuming this doesn't get delayed(AGAIN), anyone picking this up? My friend has it for 360 and its awesome.

Also, what will the differences be in the PS3 version? Are they making it any better?

I've played this game to death on the PC. If the port is solid, then you all really are in for a serious treat.

The preview that IGN looked at was running pretty good, however it seemed like development time was spent on fixing bugs and not adding anything else to the game in terms of content.

Bugs that were in the 360 version? Or bugs that they were having with PS3?

JTK- I was thinking about getting it on PC, since I'm more of a PC gamer than I am a PS3 Gamer, but I think I might enjoy this better on PS3. What do you think?

I'm not really sure if the bugs being fixed are ones in the 360 version or ones in the ps3 version. I didn't notice any bugs in the previews. With this extra time being put in the ps3 version, I was wondering if the game would have anything extra added to it, but I really don't know.

Rumor has it that the two map packs that were released for purchase on the 360 version would be coming standard with the PS3 version, but not sure if that is fact yet.

I've been waiting for this game for about six months now, and although a lot of my enthusiasm is gone, it's starting to come back. Rogue Spear was my very first online experience (after Red Alert) and remains one of the best in my memory. Rainbow Six 3 was another great game that I played for far too long online. I have heard nothing but good things from this game and even if it is an exact port of the 360 version (or even has slightly less quality textures, according to IGN) it's still a must buy for me.

Nothing is quite like Rainbow Six online.

I wonder why the game has been delayed twice, I believe. Is it because the ps3 version is being built from the ground and it's taking longer then usual to complete the game or some other reason? The 360 version has been out for some time now and this version looks to be exactly the same thing. Here is a link that talks about ign playing the ps3 version of the game for the very first time.

Normally when a game is released on multi console,
it has been noted that some of these companies have
engines that multidump.. meaning that one console does
not get all the love it should have...

Now to do it right... you would rebuild the game with
a more intense use of the options available to the unit
and not like Warner does with blu-ray movies. Encode
for hd-dvd and box it for both formats.

Then you have compaines that take a more
distinct approach they want sure the presentation
is perfect and they will go that extra mile.

This of course is my speculation and thus
is my opinon and not based on actually fact.

Figured I say that before some one whos a friend
of a friend of a friend that sells ice cream to a guy
whos roomate is a twice removed cousin of a ubisoft
employee who told then otherwise.

It seems to me that the game should be optimized for the ps3 hardware and yet, the preview build had blurry textures in the game. The ps3 can produce some jaw dropping graphics, but the game has to be programmed right for that to happen.

According to that IGN review, it's basically the same as the 360 version. They worked out bugs, but they didn't say what. The textures, as you said, were a little less sharp. Aside from that, it is rumored that 2 free map packs will be included with this game for free.

When did the 360 version come out and was the game delayed prior to the release date?

I was hoping this game would be $10 less when it comes out because it will be seriously about almost a year old. 360 Version was maybe November? That's when PS3's was normally supposed to come out.

Why would this game be $10.00 less? Most games these days cost $60.00 at retail price.
