The Producers - Japan release

This is for the very first time I saw the Universal Studios globe rise on a blu-ray disc! A delightful sight and I hope this will be the future everywhere with Universal titles.

Image and sound quality of this musical are outstanding, sound comes in uncompressed PCM 5.1. It is beyond me why Warner didn't use uncompressed PCM sound for "Phantom of the Opera". It is only now that they are starting using it.

Are you sure it is a Universal release in Japan? The Producers (2005) was also produced by Columbia Pictures (Sony) and so it could be released in Japan by Sony. The use of LPCM would seem to point to it being from Sony.

Yah, its just distiributed by someone other then universal in japan so its out. U-571 and Spy Game are also coming out for BD in other territories (universal exclusives).

He never said it was a Universal release - he said he saw the Universal globe, which will be there no matter who distributed it (and yes it is SPE outside the USA).
