Default A lot of questions ???

Hello, im from Brazil and have a lot of question about Blu-ray authoring, Drives and players....

Here in Rio de Janeiro we still dont have Blu-Ray Drives our Players, but i want to buy one for me in EUA.

I saw in Best Buy 4 Players but just the Pionner thats says that read BD-R and others...

Is the BD-R the standart Blu-ray midia ?

Scenarist software is a good choice to learn ?

Which is the best drive to buy for my PC ?

im lost... i think that maybe all this Blu-ray stuff is too new for me, but i still want to learn.

Thanks to all and sorry about my "BAD" english

Not for movies (which are BD-ROMs). BD-R is the standard media for PCs. There should be a firmware update for the Sony BDPS1 standalone Blu-ray player that will allow playback of BD-R and BD-RE.

I don't know.

I believe any Blu-ray drive would be good, but I would probably pick the Sony 100A.

Then I would start on the FAQ page of this site. It is very good. Welcome to the world of deep Blu!

1. You need to be aware of regions. I assume you meant USA, of which South America is in the same region as North America, so assuming power supply voltages and frequencies are the same or you know how to convert them that will work. http://www.blu-raydisc.com/Section-1...006/Index.html

2. BD-R is similar to a DVD-R a blu ray movie that you buy from a shop is pressed similar to a DVD is called BD. There are not supposed to be the compatibility issues with blu ray that existed with DVD.

As for what is best that depends on your preferences. Personally I would wait and see what happens at the CES in about a week. There will be some things that won't be released for a long time, but will put price pressure on existing products. If you are just wanting to learn you have come to right place.

Thanks for the fast answers, i work filming shows and weddings with a Sony HDV-Z1 camera, thats why im trying to get more information about Blu-ray.

So what im trying to understand is...

what kind of Blu-ray i will burn to give to my client ?

In the beginin i will need to ask what Player my client have ?

Can i some how put my 2 hours editing movie in a Blu-ray disc to
authoring later ?

My problem now is that im editing in 1080i but i can not put the material out of my computer. Right now im exporting a 2 hours editing to 2 tapes.

Thanks all again

this forum is great
