good call, still it's funny seeing movies like 300 and Departed on HD cheaper
than they are on standard dvd.....

if they are the combo disc they will play on a regular DVD player....
By the way I bought a HD DVD player for cheap that came with 9 free movies a lil while back and have bought over 100 HD DVDs at excellent prices since. I don't think I have added a single bluray to my collection of 70+ BDs because there hasn't been a single sale. No more BOGO means no more BDs for me. I'm currently ordering imports now for cheap. This CC sale should be the last of the brick and mortar sales but i'll be happily buyin HD DVDs to add to my high def library for under $10 a piece for quite awhile.

I think you represent a slim few, I am sure people are happy to get rid of their hddvd stuff for something and thanks to people like you their dreams come true

I have picked up a few at CC, but I am ebaying them as I ship internationally. With shipping there I am still making 5-6 bucks a HDDVD. Then again they may have not got the press release

You must not have been paying attention, because in the past few weeks there have been good sales at Amazon and JR.

I probally had most of those movies already. I did get Simpsons and 3:10 to Yumma at Target BOGO. If my HD DVD player breaks down I'm sure I can find one on Ebay if I need to in the future.

I think both of my HD players will be in fine working order in 2-3 years. Do you expect your BR player to break in 2-3 years? I bought my first DVD player (a Toshiba) in 1999 and it still works great. Toshiba has stated that the will continue to honor warranties and make spare parts for years.

But -- just to be safe -- I bought a 4 year Mack warranty for $45 for the XA2 (because it is such an awesome machine).

The whole -- I won't buy an HD DVD player because it will break in 2 years and there will be no replacement -- argument makes no sense to me.

Edit: I plan to hit CC and see that they have.

The sale started Sunday. Picked up Fast and the Furious for $12. Very good quality, hopefully when FF4 comes out this will come out

I don't understand why CC waited so late. BB knocked there's on sale 4 weeks ago. But CC made it look like nothing was going on. I don't really care what they do with them to tell you the truth but it just got me thinking.

Im not a Mod. Ive been on other threads, like Highdefdigest, but it got out of hand with stupid threads, I thought BLU RAY.com would be better, but its basically the same.

When is Transformers, Star Wars, LOTR coming out?

HD DVDs are on clearance, I thought they would stay $30 on the shelves forever
