Default Sony KDL52X3100

Gday

I'm seriously considering buying an LCD TV. I went to the shops today to compare and the KDL52X3100 is what it looks like I am getting. The picture was excellent and sitting next to a Samsung LA52F81BDX, the differences were very noticeable.

My Questions -

I keep reading that the bravia XBR series is the best, the only differences I am able to find between the 2 models is a Gunmetal bezel for $300 extra from what I would be paying with the X3100. The XBR I am looking at is a KDL52XBR. Which raises more questions when I see people talking about XBR6 etc being released soon and I cant find any information on what model of XBR this TV is. Is there any difference in PQ at all and should I wait for the new model?

Secondly, the guy at the shops tried to sell me speakers to go with... which I will need. However, coming home and trying to find information on this stuff I found that the speakers (Sony HTDDW1600) whilst producing very nice sound considering their price, don't seem to have any options for uncompressed audio. Now, one quick question... I heard that 100Hz needs to use the full bandwidth of HDMI 1.3a, which would mean any chance of having uncompressed audio is gone as PS3s as you know have only 1 HDMI out and you cant run uncompressed audio off optical. My understanding is the 100hz image is processed on the TV, the BD or Game is still sent at the same data rates, correct? Now assuming that is all ok, I would run the PS3 HDMI for video and audio, I just need a system capable of the HD audio. Will the HTDDW1600 work and I've just miss read, or is there another system I need to be looking at? Apparently the PS3 only supports up to 5.1 uncompressed audio as are most blu rays only 5.1... so that's all I'm looking at for now, though the ability to upgrade is always a good thing.

Thanks for your help, hope I've asked in the right section of the forum.
