I haven't accepted this game yet, we shall see how it plays a few
things ive seen of it has scared me away from it.

In all reality, I want to see is Star Ocean 4 and a remake of Grandia into hd.

just out of curiosity, I have rarely heard of any of the games you ever speak of. What format did they come out on console or pc? It's nothing against you, I just feel like I'm in the dark or something.

StarOcean 1 (snes)
StarOcean 2 (playstation one)
StarOcean 3 (playstation two)

Grandia (playstation one)
Grandia 2 (playstation 2)

There were other grandias and grandia
was also released on other systems but
anyway thats my list.

Grandia 1 was the best in the series, grandia 2 was
a terrible port of a dreamcast game, I suggest you
only play the first one.

I guess that's my problem. I owned SNES N64 xbox and now PS3. I guess I have a limited view of games.

I would not hold it against you not to own the first one, it never made it stateside.

But I suggest we take this onto pm instead of thread jacking saprano thread any further.

Also, sorry saprano for taking your thread off topic.

yeah, my bad Soprano. That game could be cool. Amazon has it down for May 2009. That's a ways away, but I added it to my wishlist.

Well, I might be in the minority but I never forgot about WKS. While I'm eager for WKS and FFXIII, I also want them to take their time to make them "sure hits".

This latest generation (have to stop saying next-gen), I have been disappointed with the early JRPGs that came out. Although they have been progressively getting better. Enchanted Arms was a huge disappointment, Blue Dragon was a big disappointment, and Lost Odyssey was a minor disappointment.

I know someone whose first exposure to JRPG has been this generation and has been put off by the genre. Unfortunately new gamers don't want to go play classics on "old systems" where the best JRPGs to date are. So for the sake of old and new players, I hope WKS and FFXIII are really good. They are needed to keep the genre alive.

That's all gonna change soon. Star Ocean 1 & 2 are being re-done for the PSP, and they will come here.

Grandia 1 for PS was actually a port of a Saturn game; only the PS version came to America. It's pretty good, though kinda easy.

Grandia Xtreme and Grandia 3 are both PS2 games. I have them, but haven't had the time to play yet.

Star Ocean 4 is being made. Platform unknown. Logic would suggest PS3. I saw stuff on their website that almost implied otherwise, but oh god I hope not .

Back the first topic: I've been excited about White Knight and will definitely get it. Not sure when it's going to be ready though. We'll see it get more attention as it nears completion.

Better that they show the game again when it's in a more complete state IMO.

Show something early and people complain it looks early/unfinished and that it's taking too long to come out.

Show something late and people complain that there's no good x genre games coming, that the game may have been canceled and so on.

They can't win really.

Grandia 3 is a game! It is real! PS2! Really great graphics too!
I have had the trailer for White Knight form the Japanese PSN since it came out and I still use it to showcase the PS3. None of my friends care about Gran Turismo, and very few play GTA or Metal Gear so it is the RPGs that will move systems in my group.

This game looks awesome, hopefully it comes out a good distance before or after FFXIII so I have time to enjoy it!

I'm not that much into RPGs but that game looks really good. We'll see how it really is when it's dubbed and everything.

PS3 needs RPG's faster then pronto...........

I am excited for White Knight only because it's made by Level 5 which made nothing but awesome games so far (Dark Cloud series, Dragon Quest 8, Rogue Galaxy) I seriously doubt they will mess this one up.

Same goes for me, I love my Action/adventure, Platformer, and other games but RPG's are the soul of my consoles I just hope PS3 has as many greats as PS2 and gets the ones 360 stole (Tales, & Infinite Undiscovery, Eternal Sonata) back.
