Default Anyone tried Nvidia's 174.74 drivers? released on the 27th?

Just curious, if anyone has used them, and on what operating system.
Did it clear up any bluray disc playback issues, like the disney flicks, or spiderman 3?

yeah the drivers are in the beta section released on the 27th, supposed to help a lot of hd stuttering, at least from what people have said... I didn't have stuttering, just 4 movies that don't play, so something is awry in my setup...

if this driver doesn't help, then im going to reformat my c: and do a fresh install, making sure to install the drive and cyberlink first thing after the video card.... hopefully that will help...

some people had to do a fresh install of powerdvd for it to work right. i think it kinda outragous for people to have so many issues with playback. the drive i bought was the 200$ sony bdu x10s with powerdvd bd edition.

I'm pretty sure as long as your drivers are digitally signed, blu-ray playback should work. I thought they needed to be WHQL but I've used some that suppossedly were not and still could play bluray movies. The drivers should in no way affect the ability to play certain blu-ray titles but may help with smoothness of playback, depending on your video card. Personally I think playback software has just as much to do with this.
I use my Dell XPS m1730 laptop to play blu-ray with nvidia 8700m gt using 174.31 drivers with no issues. In fact I haven't had issues with any drivers and I've tried loads.
All nvidia drivers can be used with all nvidia cards (at least 6000 series and above i'm sure) but there may be stability issues, especially when playing graphics demanding games.
Laptopvideo2go.com forums is constantly updated with the latest drivers. Seems like at least every week there is a new driver. If the driver you want to try is not compatible with your video card, you must use the modded .inf file to gain support for your card. There are tutorials on how to use these modded inf files and how to properly update drivers.

Well I've had a ticket in with cyberstink for about as long as I've owned this drive, and this morning they escalated my problem to the research department... so that blows...
I know Im not the only one with this problem, Yahoo answers proves there are many others, but its really stupid...
The sad thing is that I never had a single problem with ANY HD-DVDs.... just goes to prove the better format died... I have to hand it to Sony, they built a better product back in the day with Betamax, and it died, but this time the lowered the bar, and won... maybe that was their strategy... build a crappier product and people flock to it... Its the annoying shit like this, (movies not playing all the time) that makes me hate that hd-dvd didn't make it...
sorry first Time I've *****ed about it since it all went down... had to get it off my chest.
(just before people flip out, I wasn't an early hd adopter, I got a combo drive, and actually NEVER bought a movie on either side, until bluray won... I didn't blow any money on either one, so this is not me being bitter, its just me telling the truth... hd always worked... bluray has always fallen a bit short...)

For those of you wondering about the new drivers... I have vista, and highly recommend them... i noticed a difference right away after I rebooted... Much crisper, more vivid colors, its noticable on my setup, and no bugs... so i recommend giving it a try.

Whether it fixes Blu-ray problems or not, the new 174.74 Beta driver is a must have. They've fixed bugs from last beta, added new games, new layout/options and the best of all: Custom resolutions!
