Default Another Skrill recommendation: In the Valley of Ellah (BR)

Great Blu Ray, Great movie.

Fantastic story (based on a true story) about something no one really wants to ever talk about, the mental health of our soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. Truly disturbing ... I only hope that we as a people to a better job of recognizing the stress put on the human mind by the horrors of war. I don't see why there is controversy about this film -- but apparently there was. I don't think the movie is saying that all soldiers become monsters in Iraq, but some (as expected) are in need of help when they get back.

Tommy Lee Jones deserved his Oscar bid for his role. If you are a TLJ fan at all -- you must see this movie.

Great movie, Haggis held nothing back with this movie and his portryal of the dehumanizing of our men and women in this war. This movie is disturbing and frightening. I enjoyed Tommy Lee Jones a lot and his past few roles have had such a presence on screen that makes him of the most powerful actors out there. His role in this film that won't win him actor of the year but to visually see and feel the inner turmoil he was going through was definitely chilling.

I am definitely buying this later in the month

Not to bash anyone for loving the movie, and not to start a flame war, but I thought that the movie was pretty low-key and a little slow, and I like Tommy Lee Jones a lot.

I thought the same about Michael Clayton, and I really enjoy George Clooney.

I think I'm just an explosions/pretty colors kinda guy though.

nah. Michael clayton is way overrated. It is what everyone claims it to be, an intellectual thriller, but its far from one of the best movies of the year. Maybe because there arent many films that execute things so well that it received such praise but I thought it was very good, not great.

I know A LOT of people who are completely mislead by the cover, where it has something along the lines of "GRIPPING THRILLER!" and it shows the burning car in the backround lol. Thats about the only action the movie gets.

I just like Elah because its a war movie without really ever being on the battlefield, excluding video's watched by Tommy.
