Default Blu-vertising.....

Love him or hate him, Howard Stern has a very large audience (following really) and many people buy up anything they can associated with him or the show.

That being said, Artie Lange was talking about the studio giving some people involved in "Beer League" the shaft, and not paying them, stating Comedy Central bought the rights, etc.. and it was making a LOT of money, and he said it's also now on "BLU RAY HIGH DEF."

This was just glossed over (and has been a few times on the show now)

When "Private Parts" comes out on Blu-Ray, I'm sure it won't be 'glossed' over, and Howard will begin to encourage people to run out and get Blu Ray Players and his movie, and believe it or not, many people out there will buy Blu-Ray players just to get this movie (anyone who has listened to the show, and seen the limits people will go to just to meet him, talk to him, etc... will know a lot of his fans are CRAZY! )

What is the studio waiting for? Whoever Stern talks about hits #1 on the google search, books he talks about jump to the top of the Amazon lists, he pushed many movies like "Teeth" that became quite successful that otherwise probably would have done nothing....... Why Don't they release "Private Parts" and they would be guaranteed Free-Advertising to a very large, and very impressionable fan-base........

Just my thoughts, from listening to Artie talk about "Beer League" and the various threads here about it etc.

Private Parts was only released once on DVD (with no double dips) a decade ago back in 1998. Now the DVD is out of print, but I see Amazon still has it.

For some reason I see a very long wait for Private Parts on BD.

But you're right, when the time does arrive (if Howard is still on the air) all of the sudden he will care about Blu and promote it like there's no tomorrow.

I'm not sure if Howard is as relevant as he was when he was on regular radio. When he jumped to Sirius, I remember that he was shocked that most of his viewers didn't come along.

Before the switch, he was in the news often for one reason or another. Now, not so much. I think the last time I heard about him on the news was him complaining about his audience numbers being so much lower.

Personally, he lost his appeal to me first when Jackie was let go and finally when he was going through his divorce. He just wasn't as interesting when he could put his hand in cookie jars that were previously off limits.

As for the movie, I'm not sure he'd be so quick to talk it up as much as he did when it first came out. I mean, the whole movie was going on and on about how wonderful his (now ex)wife was, and how they would always be together.....

Very true.

10 years can change a lot of things.

This was before Sirius (and the divorce). Something about not paying him enough, and howard wouldn't (or couldn't) go to bat for him since his contract was different. So they "let him go". I don't really remember, I was losing interest then anyway.
