Default HDCRT and Blu-Ray

I am considering a PS3 or other player on my still pretty damn good CRT based Hitachi 57TWX20B.
It has one DVI input no HDMI.
I currently run my HDTV from my Directv HR20-100 via it's HDMI connection with great results.
I have a HDMI/DVI adapter will I be able to enjoy the picture quality of Blu-ray and SD upconversion on these units using an adapted connection?

yes.

But you should use an HDMI-DVI cable.

adapters can cause potential handshake troubles with HDCP.

Crackin' is right... unless your CRT is 1080i - which is highly likely. You wont have to worry about the HDCP in that case. I'm doing it on a 1080i Loewe Planus from a PS3... going HDMI to DVI to VGA. Kicks butt!
