Default Wii for a 40gb PS3....Good Trade?

I know, I know, I've already posted this in the off-topic forum but was hoping it'd get a few more views in this part of the forum. Sorry mods can delete anytime if you wish

i'm in quite the dilemma. I have myself a Wii already and play it on occasion, but while I was at wal-mart the other day, they had another Wii in stock, so I picked it up for my friend at work.

Well, he doesnt have the money to pay for it and cant justify the expense. So I put it up on craigslist and I now have the choice of either just returning it back to walmart to get my money back .... or .... someone is offering me a brand new unopened 40Gb PS3 with Spiderman 3 bundle as a trade for the Wii.

Should I .....

A) Return the Wii and give someone else who really wants a Wii the opportunity to get one for retail price of 250.00$

or...

B) Take slight advantage of the situation and trade it for a 400$ unopened PS3?

I have a feeling I already know what the majority of your answers will be, but figure I'd see what anyone has to say.

I think I have a relatively short timeline for how long this offer has on the table, so any and all quick responses would be MORE than GREATLY appreciated.

...sorry again about the double threading just kinda torn on this little sitch i've gotten myself into

If the PS3 comes with a receipt, then YES, do the trade.

No Receipt = No Warranty !

If you have a PS3 and don't need another one, trading it isn't the best option. Either Ebay it or return it.

If you don't have a PS3 and you can part with the $250, might as well score one now. You're basically buying the PS3 for $250.

i would rather have a ps3 than a wii...screw the warranty...ps3 has a low failure rate....but if you was talking xbox 360 i would say you need a warranty.

does anyone know if the PS3 comes with any security seals to make sure it is indeed unopened? I dont have a PS3 at all right now and would love to get one.

also, does anyone here think this is legit? I've heard some pretty terrible scenarios involving stuff like this on craigslist,....plus craigslist tells you in bold to avoid shipping and out or area purchasers. ugh.

"Hello,
Thanks for the prompt reply.I would like to buy your item and makefast payment but at thesame time, i will appreciate if we can both deal on transparency and honesty, So i will be very glad if you can render your total co-oparation on this transanction.

My mode of payment for this item will be through US Certified Check because, Under federal law, banks have to make the funds you deposit available quickly" usually within one to three days, thats the only means of payment i have access to presently and i dont mind offering you $400 provided you can reserve the item for me while i make payment and also, i will wait till the check clear your bank before i arrange for the shipping.

As for the shipping, am shipping the item within the United State because am located in vermont, so shipping will be handled by my shipping company as soon as you verify and confirmed payment, so all i need from you is to know when you will be available at your address so that my shipping company can come and pick up the item.

If this sounds good and you are okay with my payment and shipping arrangements, do let me have your full name and address plus your direct phone number as it will be written on the check so that i can forward it to my finance house to prepare it for you to receive it on time.
Thanks and get back to me as soon as possible.

definitely a scam... the more details, the less truthful it is. You should never have to jump through hoops to sell something. Either they want it under your terms or they don't.

either return it for your full refund or ebay it for a profit, I personally would try to ebay it first, you could possibly get up to $350 for it.

If you need the $250, go with A. But if you don't, go for B (if offer is legit)

Take advantage of the PS3. The guy must be an idiot to make that kind of trade. Unless he's smart then you're dealing with somebody. You could probably make a lot of money selling the Wii underground. But yeah, straight across the board you got a great deal.

Yeah i bet the ps3 has major problems with it.

Get a receipt with it, or avoid all together.

Keep the Wii for smash bros., mario kart, zelda, wii sports, virtual console, etc. Buy a new 80gb PS3 bundle in a couple of months.
