Default My new system

First, my thanks to the many people who offered their advice and opinions when I was auditioning systems. I am now enjoying the following:
Front towers - PSB Synchrony Two
Center Channel - PSB Synchrony One
Rears - PSB Synchrony Two B
Subwoofer - PSB Sub-sonic 6i
Receiver - Marantz SR8002

As much as I liked the Paradigm Studios, I couldn't get past the vinyl wrap, hence the PSBs - also a wonderful sound.

I am amazed at the difference this sound system makes, both for movies and music. Although my dog didn't appreciate getting caught in the crossfire during 3:10 to Yuma.
This streched my original budget, but it was worth it. And I was very happy with the the deal.

As predicted by richteer and dobyblue, I am listening to a lot more music than before.

The addictive part: I am considering upgrading the sub within the upgrade window of one year.

That's great to hear!!! I listen to music a LOT more than I watch movies. A good sound system is hard to beat!

Nice speakers, let's see some pics!

If you think you are going to upgrade, why not do it now??? Take the Sub-sonic 6i back and get and HSU or an SVS. You can spend the same amount of money on one of those and get a better subwoofer!

That is most excellent to hear!

When it comes time to upgrade the sub, I hope we can help sway you towards something from Epik or Elemental Designs.

Elemental Designs A7-900 - http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_...roducts_id=606
Epik Conquest - http://www.epiksubwoofers.com/ConquestOverview.html

Well, money is not the issue if he takes the Sub-sonic 6i back that he just got. You can get an SVS, HSU, or Elemental Designs for the same price. All of those will perform very well too. It is an upgrade, but it doesn't require an upgrade in budgeting!

Edit: By the way, I still want to see some pics, did you get them in cherry or black?

It's not a bad sub, but Mac is right, you could best the performance for that price.

The 6i hits 27Hz at -10dB, for $599 you could get an SVS that hits 20Hz at -3dB or for the same $599 you could get the AV123 MFW-15 which will outperform ANY sub within $200 of it and more.

Although since the MFW-15 came out and appeared on craigsub's rankings it is now backordered to June, so you might want to hop on it asap.

I'll take pictures when the speakers are in their permanent positions. The Two B's are loaners since the dealer was out of stock on them. They're just setting on the stands for now. I got them in cherry. BTW, I'm female.

I am appreciating the sub opinions and advice. I may make a move sooner rather than later.

Nice set up, and BTW PSB makes some fine subs so you can get a very good sub and still stay with PSB. Bass is very room Dependant so rating for subs don't mean much if it does not integrate well with your room and your system.

Whoops! My apologies on the assumption!

I love cherry speakers, maybe I don't want to see any pics, they might make my upgrade-itis even worse!

Glad I could help--and I apologise in advance for getting you (more) hooked on music. :-) Now, I gotta go to www.elusivedisc.com and www.acousticsounds.com and order me some more records...
