Default Is there a way for PS3 to automatically select the PCM, TrueHD, or DTS HD audio?

A lot of the Blu-ray movies that I own have both PCM and TrueHD(or DTS HD MA) audio tracks, in addition to a Dolby Digital 5.1 track.

Unfortunately, when I insert the disc into my PS3, the PS3 starts playing
the crappy Dolby Digital audio track. I have to manually remember to
switch to the PCM/TrueHD/DTS HD track....

I realize this problem is probably caused by the bozos who produced the
Blu-ray disc....

However... why can't Sony add an option in the PS3 to always pick
the umcompressed/lossless track first?

Thanks!

I would have to think that since the majority of people probably still have older receivers not capable of the HD codecs yet, the disc manufacturers just set it to default on the standard ones. Not sure I'd call them bozos for going with the majority on this one.

Not sure if there would be a way the PS3 could circumvent that or not.

I find it easier to hit display, and see what the audio is, and if it's not what I want hit triangle to change the audio setting.

Yeah, some default to the legacy codecs but it seems like it is slowly changing. More and more seem to be defaulting to lossless and on at least one title, ID4, you can save your settings.

Ditto. Been doing it for years. In fact, I kinda dislike movies that shoot straight to the flick without taking me past a menu. Maybe just me, though.
