Default HD DVD to Blu-Ray

How soon before all movies that are exclusively released in HD DVD be transferred to Blu-Ray format?

i think every title that is Hd-Dvd exclusive and i mean every single one i think Blu-Ray will have all of them by end of 2009 or maybe 2010 depending on these studios

well its going to take those Hd-dvd titles just as long as up till now from when hd-dvd started to get all of those Hd-Dvd exclusive titles to come out to Blu-Ray because of especially Universal, some Paramount, and even Warner has some titles but my estimate is sometime in late 2009

Not sure about the legalities that may delay transfer. Any comments?

Just a guess, but I figure since Paramount already released some BD's you are most likely to see their releases first. Universal never released BD's and I imagine it will take them longer to get set up for it.

The other factor would probably be whether or not are they going to port over the HD-DVD versions (no lossless audio and/or high-end video transfers) to save time and money, or will they take the extra time to update them with everything we now expect from Blu-Ray. Hopefully the latter will be the case. I'd rather wait another 6 months for something special than buy right now what would essentially be a copy of an HD-DVD in a Blu-Ray case.

I'm not sure that ALL HD-DVD releases will come out on blu. The blockbusters and classics should all be released. But I suspect a few of the day-and-date bombs may not.

Lot of Universal titles left... that will take a while.
The majority will be on Blu by the end of 2009, and i expect sometime in 2010 for all the others to finally make it.

Paramount will probably get all of their titles from hd-dvd out there on blu-ray quicker than Universal. Supposedly 2009 is going to be a HUGE year. 2008 seems to be a transitional year for these two studios.

"It is universally accepted that the decision to get all dud titles into blu-ray by end of 2009 is paramount!"

I'd like to see all the big movies from hd dvd in blu ray
I wont say names like transformers or matrix or king kong due to alot of people getting upset and there panties in a bunch.....

But other movies like inside man & bee movie. I like those too i hope they release all the movies in blu ray and not just the big ones.

Because alot of cool movies are in hd only. I mean some of the hd dvd movies box art and stuff look cool...I hope blu ray does a little something different from time to time with theres also. for example
The 40 year old virgins case for hd dvd when the pull the tab the guys shirt comes off and shows where he had the hair waxed off his chest lol...
Guess its just a lil something extra...i would like to see on blu ray
(((well not necessarily the shirt coming off a guy but you get the picture)))

yeah, sure buddy. You can't back outta that one. you said it.

As far as the panties in a bunch... mine seem to bunch up really easily. I don't know maybe it's my fabric softener.

I for one hope they bring over Serenity and release that at the same time as they release the Firefly series this fall in blu-ray... like in a big package lol

Really, does anyone know if the studio releasing Firefly on blu-ray is the same that did Serenity?? if not, the bundle/package idea won't really work... still though, same time would be nice, or sooner.

i am sure we will be hearing from Paramount first before Universal since they did release Blu disks before. for Universal on the other hand probably near the end of 2008/beginning 2009 is when we hear from Universal.

the way i see it, the sooner the better so i can get my hands awesome titles from both studios.

Fox has the rights for "Firefly", Universal has the rights for "Serenity".

I would expect releases from Universal during the 3rd quarter at least...
