Default Help! - Onkyo 605?

So I'm about ready to press the order button and buy a new receiver and upgrade from my older Yamaha RXV-596. I'm planning on going with the Onkyo 605. From what I've read I think this is the best bang for my buck and should give me quite an increase in audio formats and sound quality. I still have a couple of questions/doubts.

Will my 5.1 speaker setup (Klipsch, Definitive Tech Speakers) sound good with a 7.1 receiver?

Will DTS-MA, Uncompressed PCM, really be that much better?

I'm horrible I can't ever make decisions - Anyone have advice, suggestions, or encouragement for this purchase?

other components -
Sony SXRD 60"
PS3 40GB

Absolutely. You just need to make sure you leave the 7.1 settings unchecked on the PS3

Yep.

I'm the same way. I have tunnel vision until i figure out what I want, then can't pull the trigger..... uncompressed audio is a tremendous difference from the lossy tracks. you will not be disappointed, especially pairing it up with such great speakers.

Yes, and Yes again.
Except... The PS3 cant decode DTS-MA yet. That should come in a firmware update soon though (its been announced - i think. Its just a matter of time now)

Definately get the 605. I got mine in December and love it to death... Other people may say to get the 705 or the 805 simply because of extra HDMI ports, and the ability to take a 5.1 mix and somehow make it 7.1... which is retarded in my opinion cause then you wouldnt get the exact original sound that the movie or game developers had wanted. But you know... Whatever.
Its definately not worth the extra hundred bucks in my opinion. You'd have to be insane...

Again though - all my opinion.

It was cheap. And I'm not a fan of the Ipod. Sorry to disappoint you.

I get mine today and I can't wait! I'm getting excited!

Quick question for any Onkyo 605 owners....How long did the setup take for you? I have company coming over and only have about 30-45 minutes prior to set the new receiver up. Will this be long enough? Any quick tips to setting it up with a PS3?

Thanks!!!
