Default 24p question

This is a little new to me, but I understand the concepts of it and why it would look good.
My question is...
My Mitsu DLP doesn't support 24hz in 1080p mode... but! it does support 24hz in pc mode... which would still be broadcasting to the TV in 1920x1080p 24hz
would I get the same effect?

Just curious, its all going through DVI to HDMI
and the TV supports
Quote:
EIA-861D standard for digital audio and video via HDMI
HDMI standard connector
Video: 60 Hz: 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i
24 Hz, 30 Hz, 60 Hz: 1080p
Audio: PCM stereo
According to the manual... you would think i could use 24hz without it being in PC mode according to how its worded in the book.
