Michael Bay responds to Uwe Boll - Blu-ray Forum

I know Michael Bay's pretty popular around these parts, particularly because of his outspoken stance on Blu-ray over the course of the format war.

Over on his official forums, he's posted a response to a question from a user regarding what he thought about Uwe Boll's accusation that he was a "f***ing retard":

For those that aren't aware, Uwe Boll posted a YouTube video ranting about his various detractors and doing his usual "I'm a chenius!" schtick, ostensibly responding to the people who created an Internet petition asking him to stop making movies (said petition now has 180,000+ signatures, incidentally!).

and how the hell did they get jason statham to star in dungeon siege? i mean, is statham's career in that terrible shape?

I never heard of Uwe Boll until now. I managed to look at his work and nothing stood out. Boll made himself look like an ass. Sure Bay has gave me the same expression in the past.. not nearly that bad BUT one thing IS for sure, Bay has a few movies I recognize and like.

Did you watch some of the video replies? Here he actually claims that Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay are running around the net posting shit about him under different handles because they're afraid of the competition

unfortunately although i am pro blu 100% michael bay isn't one of my favorite directors. he lacks both taste of quality and originality, on top of it he is one of the "full of shit" directors. I know some of you like him, but i hope it isn't just for Transformers. now he did make some good movies but there is no argument that his films aren't great. If it was stephen speilberg, or martin scorsesee, or even jerry bruckhiemer producing/directing a film then it would have been a whole different argument.

After all for each their own.

Yeah, I'm not a big Michael Bay fan either. Bad Boys, Bad Boys II, The Rock, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor, The Island and Transformers, are the only movies of his that I like.

Edit: Didn't want to bump an old thread but to address some of the posts following mine, yeah, I was being sarcastic (tongue-in-cheek, facetious or whatever you want to call it). Wanted to make sure I note that before I forget. Don't want someone bumping this thread at some point in the future, and not understand what I meant by it. Also, it could be taken more literally in the future if he has released more movies by then.
