no way! thats the whole mystery of the show

but everything i've read about the movie thus far makes it seem like they've watered it down a bit so it'll be more mainstream, rather than a x-files nerd dream movie

i want my nerd movie damnit!

Man, Robert Patrick was legend in S8 and 9. Duchovny was so over XFiles when he did show up in 8 & 9 he just dragged it down. The episodes where Patrick got to lead were consistently good in my books.

"Have you seen this boy" lol. How can you not like the T1000

Seriously though, I thought X-Files was going down hill way before Robert Patrick came on the show. I liked the show better when they mostly did standalone stories, rather than the confusing alien conspiracy "main plot". That whole thing just got too ridiculous at the end. And I guess a lot of other people felt the same way, as this new movie seems to be telling a standalone story from what I've read about it.

Been watching the key episodes again, to prep for the movie. Finished up "Max" from Season 4, will likely wrap up watching that season over the next week.

I should try and grab "Lone Gunmen", though.

Well, that might explain why the whole thing went to hell after Season 7, because Mulder found the answer to his sister's disappearance in one of the later S7 episodes. If the whole mystery of the show was wrapped up in Season 7, that explains why seasons 8 and 9 were such horrific dead weight.

While I am looking forward to this I wonder how well it will do at the box office. It's my understanding that it's the start of a trilogy correct? How many non X-files fans will be excited for this? It's kind of a niche movie isn't it?

is it the continuation of a trilogy like its the 2nd part of a 3 part trilogy?

that would be pretty cool, in true x-files fashion they left a lot of open ended questions in the series

I think this movie has nothing to do with the 'something is out there' theme and is the start of a new trilogy.
