Cool Terminator Trilogy on BD questions...

I have had the Terminator Trilogy on my Amazon wishlist for sometime now. Amazing that the movie prices are relatively low. Why is this?

T1: $19.95
T2: $12.95
T3: $18.95 (The new 1080p version)

T2 is one of my all time favorite movies and I am dying to see it in HD. But I also know the likelyhood of a box set is low because they are done by 3 different studios. But after the Paramount thing, I believe anything is possible.

Do I wait any longer, or should I dive in?

I would not expect a box set. There was never one for DVD so I doubt there will be one for Blu.

I think you should go for it. And yes, with them being done by different studios the likelyhood of a box set is slim to none. I own T2 and it looks better than the dvd. I just wish they would already come out with a Director's Cut with lossless audio. That and re-master or clean up T1. Hell I want T3 just to see Kristana Loken in 1080p.

After the countless releases of T2 on DVD I'll wait for another edition. I'm sure eventually a better release will come.

Unfortunately I didn't wait to get T2 on Blu-Ray and I am suffering the poor PQ consequeneces of my actions.

Eventhough I already bought it, if they re-released it and it actually had good PQ to it, I'd pick it up again the movie is that good.

I'd just go for it. I have the first two and held out on the third since it doesn't have lossless. T2 doesn't either but at least it has DTS HR. I haven't watched T2 in awhile, but I remember thinking it was a decent upgrade. I'd say it's worth 13 bucks. The first one is pretty damn good as well. PCM soundtrack and a great transfer.

I would agree. The movie is excellent. As far as I'm concerned, it sets the standard for a great action movie.

I didn't buy T2 on Blu-ray yet, because like some of the others, I'm waiting for the re-release.

The 3 movies are owned by 3 different studios on 3 different distributors (MGM(Fox) Lionsgate and Warner)

The legal wrangling to do a box is virtually impossible in the states.

The thing that I don't get is I bought a double-DVD set about a year and a half ago that was Terminator and Robocop, released by MGM. Now my Terminator Blu is a Sony and the Robocop Blu is Lions Gate. How does that work?

Sony owns MGM, and they distributed it for about 9 months until the other investors wanted them to not have so much control over hte properties, so MGM returned to Fox.

T4 was supposed to start shooting May 5th, but may have been delayed
