Default Slaughterhouse (1987)

Slaughterhouse (1987) Blu-ray

Original message:
The following statement was posted on the FB page of a band called Mortician:

"So today I received a message from Rick Roessler the producer and director of the cult classic film "Slaughterhouse" requesting the use of the Mortician song "Slaughterhouse" for inclusion in the ending credits of the blu-ray release of the film. Where do I begin. Um... how fast can we say yes? Since that is a Relapse Records owned song, they will have to deal with them, but we of course said yes and hope it happens. Oh yeah and in case you didn't catch that... Slaughterhouse is coming to blu-ray next year! All I can say is 'at least you made good clean cuts' "

Hmm. I might give this one another chance. I sold my DVD after I watched it and didn't like it.

Who released the DVD? This seems like a Vin Syn title.

According to Amazon, Entertainment Programs released it. Here is the link http://www.amazon.com/Slaughterhouse-Joe-B-Barton/dp/6305663068/ref=sr_1_1?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1406676144&sr=1-1&keywords=slaughterhouse

I haven't seen this since the VHS days. I'm sure it will find its way into my collection.

I'd guess maybe Synapse, Vinegar Syndrome, or maybe even Code Red will release it.

One of my earliest memories of going to the video store was seeing a big cardboard stand up of this movie. His arm that is holding the ax moved too, which blew my mind.

Still never actually seen the movie though, but I've always wanted to.

Adding a modern song to the end credits? Uhh... I doubt a company like Grindhouse, Vinegar Syndrome, Synapse, or Scream Factory would do something like that, guys.

Sounds to me like the director/producer is trying some sort of half-assed, self-distribution thing on his own, much like Hauntedween.

It'd be cool if one of the big guns snagged this one, but as a self-distribute, I would be very skeptical of quality.

Oh dang, I didn't even realize it was a new song they were adding to the movie. Yeah, that doesn't sound too hot...

I'm not sure if the song is NEW or not, per say... I don't listen to death metal... but adding ANY song to an older movie, when that song wasn't part of that movie originally... just seems wrong.

To be fair, I've not seen Slaughterhouse in yeaaaaaaaaaars so it's possible this song was in the end credits of past releases.

If this has always been the end credits song, and they're just reaching out for a rights clearance thing, I apologize. But, just reading the band member's comments though, doesn't sound like it. Sounds like they're just fans of the movie and are happy to have their song associated with it.

Mortician is bad but they also rule. I'm actually over the moon for a song of theirs to be used assuming they want to because they couldn't get the original song used cleared for rights. This will be really damn entertaining.
