Question regarding firmware installs and hard drive space - Blu-ray Forum

Hi all!

I just wanted to know: If I install a new firmware update on ps 3 does it overwrite the old firmware version?

To put it another way: Do I lose hard drive space each time a firmware update is installed or does the update overwrite the previous one, leaving me with the same amount of hard drive space?

firmware is stored inside flash memory so it would not cost any hard drive space.

When you update the ps3 it overwrites the data on the flash memory.
