My first was Across the Universe, it looks amazing, it's a great movie. But really, I would go for whatever your tastes are. Cars is a great all around Blu-ray, also Ratitoullie or the Pirates movies. All are very good Blu-rays. There are a lot of older movies already on Blu-ray too.

Underworld Evolution was my first. But there are tons of goodies out there. Visit the tier thread at AVS and just choose what you like out of Tier 0. you won't be disappointed.

Wow thanks for the quick response everyone.
Well so far the mentioned films, Casino Royal, Pirates and No Country for Old Men was at the top of my list so thats probably where i'm heading towards...
I'm a picky person with choosing films...its a curse.

My first three Blu-Ray's were "Hairspray", "Enchanted" and "Halloween" - Love them all! especially "Hairspray" - excellent sound and picture...but it's all in what you like.

Mine was Car's and 300. If I were buying a first movie. Car's or Rattatouile for a cartoon. For AQ, ID4, I-robot, Live Free or die hard, most Fox movies have great sound. I believe all Fox movies use DTS-MA-HD. For PQ- POTC, Casino Royale, Live free or die hard, Planet Earth, Many more. Try this link it rates movies PQ.

I'd go with Ratatouille, as that's the complete package of everything. If you don't enjoy or appreciate animation, then you can't go wrong with 'No Country For Old Men' - one of the favorites in my collection as well.
