I've been searching around and looking at some suggestions others have given me, but would like more input.
I have around 1500-2000 to spend, i can go higher if it's worth it, and i really don't want anything under 50" or over 55". I don't care if it's plasma or lcd, both are incredible imo. But do prefer it to be 1080p (want the most out of my blu-ray) I'd like to stay away from toshiba, since the tv i have right now likes to blow bulbs like it's nobodys buisness (and others have had the same problem). So i'd like to stay away from their products. Last edited by SellmeyourDVD; 04-24-2008 at 05:03 PM. |

Samsung PN50A550 best thing below pioneer plasma in my opinion.
http://reviews.cnet.com/flat-panel-t...-32887581.html Better rated than all panasonics. Last edited by Mathus; 04-24-2008 at 05:15 PM. |

Personally for that money I'd pick up a Panasonic plasma (which can be had in that price range) or one of the remaining SXRD rear pros from Sony.

I have a Panasonic TH-50PZ700U and I think you can get them for almost $2000 US nowadays. Pioneers are the best but in that price range you can get a 1080P Panny or a 720P Pioneer. I'd go with the 1080P personally. My in-laws have the Pioneer and it has a great picture, but my Panny has just as good of a picture and when you watch blu-rays up close on mine it looks better.

With your price range you can't get a Pioneer plasma. That's not that bad though, especially if you do any gaming. LCD is good for gaming and movies too. With your budget, I would look at the 46" and 52" Sony Bravia XBR4.

I just ordered mine last night. I saw it in the store and it was my fav budget plasma by far. Can't wait to get it. I've had no probs with Amazon before so I felt comfortable ordering it online.

Are you against getting a rear projection? I still think they are a great dollar vaule when it come to screen size and quality. You can get a 57'' Mitsu for under $1500. Unless you plan on mounting the TV to a wall.
You may also want to wait until later this year when Mitsu releases ther laser TV. It is a rear projection that uses a laser for the light souce and they are to be stunning (I know a few who saw them a CES). The best part is they are going to be as thin or thinner then a LCD or Plamsa. The bad part is pricing as not been released yet ![]() |
