Please keep it civil and post your thoughts. I for one still like his movies, though he should get some help with his anger (for PR sake). We've all been angry before, just so happens someone taped him. When you're in the spotlight, I believe you are held to a higher standard from the public, right or wrong.

i like his movies as well and think he was taken advantage of being taped.

he should get some help w/his anger issues.

he should lay low, work on his problems and stay out of the spotlight for a while.

If I could have checked off three of them I would have. Instead I went with racists (but will watch his movies) as that is clear as day. He definitely has anger issues and I'd love to see the rest of the evidence (the ***** wife is probably highly manipulative.. doesn't excuse Mel being a crazed racists rager)

I went for "he's got anger problems but I'll still watch and buy his movies" although I also would've liked to check "not enough information."

Unlike that child molester Polanski, I'll still watch Gibson's films. First, I think he's an excellent director but Polanski I always thought was overrated. Second, I try to separate personal from business. Sean Penn, Crowe, Brando, Cruise--all four have had off the set issues but are fantastic actors. None of them, including Gibson, did anything illegal to the extent of Polanski. There's a big difference.

Well if he did punch the teeth out, that would be illegal. We'll see.. True, nothing like Polanski.. but hey if Whoopi comes out and say's Polanski's okay he must be as well

Had to vote the evidence is unclear. If he did beat a woman like that he should do time. If it comes out that he has a history of beating on women, I'm done with him. As far as the racist remarkes, they are used daily by people of all colors but when a white guy says them the media goes nuts. (How about what Jesse Jackson said the other day? Is he racist? Look at the history.) Agreed big difference than what Polanski did. No France for Mel though, far to traditional to be allowed in.

Yes, without a doubt.

Had to laugh at the "If Whoopie says he's cool" option. You know someone is going to vote that one.

IMO I agree. Don't think we'll be seeing a report on it anytime soon though...from any network.

He's one of my favorite actors, and I hope he can straighten his life out and get back to making awesome films. I'm really excited about his Viking pic with Leo and hope that gets made.

Jess Jackson is extremely racist and sets back his movement for racial equality due to his stupid comments. He's the reason people scoff at race issues and think too many things are considered "racist." There are very legitimate racial issues that should be talked about, not the crap Jackson gets publicly involved in.

In the other Mel thread somebody did say Mel wasn't racist because Whoopi said he wasn't.. That is fantastic logic! LOL

Agreed JHiggy, A shame at what he does and people like him. Race baiting, as in the Lebron thing, is one of the most annoying things there is to me.

I was looking for the "He's as crazy as a loon" option. Henry Winkler did a local radio interview the other day and defended Mel, saying he was likely distraught over the oil spill, the war, and the economy...and that's why he flipped out. I don't know about all that, Henry!

Odd comments by Winkler.

Being distraught is OK. Being ultra angry is OK too. Its what you do with those feelings that matters.

I made that post and i only quoted what she said while you came back with an amazing reply which was 'I'm not surprise that she is at all' (racist). Well i don't think she is racist and i would be surprised if she was. What are you basing your reasons on Whoopi Goldberg being a racist? Is it because she was involved with Frank Langella & Ted Danson.......mmmm no that can't be right.

Here is the quote below. This is the same as telling whoever was interviewing her that she is a racist. Plus she had amitted to shouting out racist comments already in that same part the the other user mentioned.

I voted for the boy's got anger issues and needs to work them out. Will I still watch Braveheart and The Patiot? You bet. Will I watch a new film that he comes out with in a few years? Yup. Especially the one with DiCaprio if it ever gets made.
