Does anyone know how I can keep my original iPod music titles when I upload them onto my PS3 hard drive? My files uploaded onto the PS3 just fine, but instead of my original titles, the PS3 assigned each music file a four character alpha title instead. I have over three hundred classical music files alone (plus twice that many Jazz titles), and it gets very hard to remember which Bach file is a Sonata in G minor Presto rather than a Partita in D minor Sarabanda without my original title information. I'm older now and my memory isn't what it used to be. I can't see manually reentering all my original title selection information into the PS3 track information, as that is far too time consuming to even contemplate attempting.

From your description, you are trying to load your PS3 with music already included in your iPod by iTunes.
Instead of doing this, clear out your iPod then enable it to be used as a hard disk. Then transfer all of your music files from the iTunes FOLDER (DO NOT USE ITUNES) into the iPod and then from the iPod to the PS3. Personally though, I'd rather listen to the CD on the PS3 and not the AAC files. fuad |

I have to agree with the cd idea just for clarity reasons.
You can also use a flash card or a memory stick. I use an 8G Compact flash card for music, a 2G SD card for Wallpapers and smut and memory sticks for everything else. (I absolutely LOVE this system) |

I agree to a point. For all-day casual listening I like to play files through the PS3 in shuffle mode. Changing CD's isn't always convenient, and those big carousel CD players are mainstream consumer quality at best, and the five disc ones aren't much better. For serious listening enjoyment (music, not movie soundtracks) I prefer my dedicated 2-channel stereo setup though. Thanks for your advice on iPod 2 PS3 file uploads. I agree with most people on this forum, the PS3 is a fine, flexible must-have piece of equipment. Last edited by Ria Rhodes; 05-05-2008 at 04:51 AM. |
