Default An error has occured. You have been signed out the the PS network.

Any idea what's the deal with this? I have the 60GB and it seems that it routinely signs me out of the 'Playstation Network' for whatever reason.

Yet, I sign in and am attempting to play Call of Duty 4, but it says that I cannot play until I download the latest update for the game. So I continue on to the download of the update, yet it only makes it halfway before it displays the error message and I cannot continue downloading (because I'm signed out of the PS3 network. Error message says (8002AD23).

Any luck?

Well, it happens all the time, not specifically when I'm trying to download the game. Just periodically I'll be doing whatever on my Playstation and I'm signed out of the Playstation network! Frustrating!

Its most likely your wireless connection. Its not a PS3 issue but your router

I honestly think it has more to do with the wireless tech built into the PS3 than it does with your router. Most PS3's are directly next to the TV and other AV equipment, and that is a LOT of EMI (electro-magnetic interference) for the wi-fi to wade through.

I haven't encountered too many issues with the PS3 yet, but it does sign me out randomly.

Had a similar problem with the wi-fi on my Xbox 360, even with the expensive wireless adapter. So I returned it and bought an Apple Airport Express because it has an ethernet port on it that converts to wi-fi (so you set it up like a wired connection, even though it's wireless), and the signal strength is ridiculously powerful. It also cost less than the Xbox adapter did. I recommend it if you have an Airport network.

My system (hooked up with a network cable. . .don't have a wireless router) sometimes doesnt like to connect. I'll turn it on and it'll never connect. Usually though, I can just shut down the PS3, turn it right back on, and it'll sign me in to the PSN after a try or two. Its annoying that it won't always connect, but I'm not sure theres anything else I can really do about it.

Turn off UPnP on the router settings and the PS3 network settings. Whenever I have these settings enabled I get that message constantly(wired or wireless). When I disable them it works flawlessly.

It's a router issue. There is a workaround.

I'm gonna bet you have a Linksys router?

When trying to view media files shared on a PC I'm guessing...

It kicks me out about 10 times as much if I try that as well...

I'm just going to throw this out there. If you are connecting wirelessly and someone is using, lets say a 2.4ghz coorless phone, you'll tend to lose connection.

Try this...I'm pretty sure it will help. I have no problems streaming files or with my computer, laptop, or PS3 connection to the internet. When I did have UPnP enabled I would have nothing but problems. I keep it disabled as well, no need to enable it.

Did you open up the ports on your router?
I had to open up like 5 ports n my router before my PS3 stop disconnecting other network enabled devices on my network and be able to play online without a problem.

It's the DNLA stuff. Whenever I have the DNLA stuff enabled, this happens. Whenever I have it disabled, I'm connected to the PSN 100% of the time.

I just wish it would let me use both concurrently. It's a pain having to switch just to access the files on my pc.

Ah, so maybe it's when the UPnP and the DNLA are enabled simultaneously? Sweetness. When I get my ps3 back, I'll try disabling the UPnP and see if I can access the PSN and my PC at the same time.

I didn't open any ports, but I haven't had any problems playing online so far.
