I use a Stir-Crazy from West Bend, which is considered a "gourmet popper". Its great. Perfect pops every time. No unpopped kernels, ever. And you can use flavored oils and such for popping. (No option for these types of poppers on the poll.)

Then I top it with O'Dell's, which is hands-down the BEST popcorn butter on the planet! And some of their popcorn salt, which is also butter-flavored. Mmmmm!

Microwave popcorn is too salty. Air poppers are too chewy. Classic theater poppers are too big and too messy. And Jiffy Pop isn't a possibility because I have a glass-top range. For home-made popcorn, I'd recommend the Stir-Crazy.

I use the Whirley-Pop, which is a hand-cranked model that does the same thing as the Stir Crazy device. Absolutely love it - no "old maids" and great popcorn every time.

Can't stand microwave popcorn. So much junk in it, and it just tastes "fake," in a way. I've eaten stove-top my entire life though, so I may be a bit biased.

Microwave, but not the manufactured boxes full of bags. 1/4 c. popcorn in a brown paper lunch bug folded over & stapled twice across the top.

Unless its winter, in which case we pop it over the fire.

I wish I had a Chuck Norris to make it with. Until he goes on sale, I have to use the microwave.

This is what I use!!!!!!!..... but I melt Butter in the micro-wave, and use plain popcorn salt....... (I don't use the holes on top of the thing to melt the butter.... too messy, and it burns if you put it on before the kernels start to pop, and also slows down the popping etc...)

THESE ARE THE BEST!!!!

My parents always had one when I was a kid..... and I told my wife "we NEED one of these" and she said "what's wrong with the microwave ones" I made a believer out of her!!! Plus it's really cheap too, because a huge bag of kernels is like $4

I'm an air popper guy myself. I just prefer using my own butter, as opposed to the microwave butter... Plus, popping it yourself is just cheaper.

When my air popper dies, I may try this Stir Crazy out...

I said stove top though that isn't accurate. I have a WestBend Crazy 8 oil popper. Best popcorn in the world comes from oil poppers. Beta Man, plus 1.

If you are concerned about the fat, read this. I'm the third review down the list. There are healthy oils you can use to make popcorn.

You microwave guys are not true lovers of popcorn in my book.
