What happens if I delete the BD data file?

Hey, what would happen if I delete the BD data file? And why is there an option to delete it? Why is it there in the first place?

Blu-ray movies are distributed on BD-ROM, therefore you can't delete anything off them, they are Read Only.

If you are referring to a writeable BD, then try it... let us know what happens... some of us may need cheering up .

Are you talking about the BD data utility? I know that any BD live content is stored in that file. I would guess that if you delete the entire folder it would recreate one for any discs that need it.

Yeah, I'm talking about the bd data utility. So it wouldn't be a prob if I delete it?

i dont see why you would want to delete it. it prob doesnt take much space on hdd./console. id recommend leaving it there

Do you have anything listed in the folder? I've checked a few times and didn't see anything listed but haven't checked since the BD-Live update.

Content, downloadables via BD-Live, settings, the memory of where you were in the movie/DVD, Blu-ray game settings/scores (i.e. Disney Cars Finder data), etc. You can delete it, and it will clear but the next time you watch a movie that requires some storage, the data will be recreated. I just leave mine alone and with as little as 20GB to as much as 80GB, there really is no need to worry.
