Problems with a samsung bd-p1000

hi.i have p1000 with those two problems.first i lost my remote and now i can't even make an update because i can go past the yes,no screen that needs ok to continue.second i can't get a picture from a viewsonic 2750w tv via component because it does not have an hdmi(only vga).i have the player set to component output but with no luck(xbox360 plays fine with componet).i have still firmware ver1.

i have 2 universal remotes but no one works.maybe prestigo from phillips will do the job.

The remote for the BDP1000 is currently on backorder at Samsung. When it will come in a mystery. With Samsung, it seems time has no meaning. But here is a link for ordering it.

But for what it will probably cost, you might want to pick up a Harmony Universal remote. They will operate anything and one remote for everything is a great convenience. Amazon has them on sale sometimes (but even not on sale, they are worth every penny).

You should be able to use your machine without the remote and just use the buttons on the machine itself to do the update.

Not sure about the problem with component, but I think you might have to change something in the Samsung setup menu for it to work. Maybe someone will chime in who knows the answer to that.

thanks my friend.i tryed to update but i can't.the machine does not have the right button for the update and i can't access the menu without the remote to see about the component problem.

the remote at your link is not available like at my local samsung service.they have remote for 1000 players but not for they recent ones.

anothes question that i have is why the us firmware is at version 1.5 and the europian at 1.3 can i update a europian machine region 2 with 1.5?
