downloads fast, verifies fast, then it's stuck at the 4th step - Firmware update. - Now, processing....
I reset it 2 times so far after giving it 15-20 minutes, looks like the update never even started - when it restarts it detects again that there is a new update available. Anyone else with this problem? Any suggestions? |

Did you check in the setup menu 'display', what is the status of the latest firmware? Perhaps it did update it and you just don't know or are not sure yet. ...You know, for confirmation sake. Happened with my Sammy player few times like that before.
![]() * By the way, are you doing it from the Ethernet port? Or a burned CD-R disc? If one way gives you trouble, just try the other method. And are your settings properly adjusted? Last edited by LordoftheRings; 06-02-2010 at 05:07 AM. |

![]() So, are you using the Ethernet port for this? Yes, then why not try to burn a disc and do it that way instead? Right? Stop beating a dead horse and find another animal to beat up. ![]() Never know what life might come back from it. ![]() |

Things to try...
1- Shut down everything (modem/router/player etc)...restart with modem (wait until fully on), then router (wait until fully on), then player (wait until fully on) etc etc.. 2- Go to "No disc >> Setup >> System >> BD Managment" and delete I myself have not update to 2.09 yet, but have done all the above before installing every update since fw 1.11 .... no problems ...yet.. Try each or both. On a side note, all my updates have always taken (total time including downloading) about 40 to 60 min. |

tigger5: how long does it usually take you to delete the BD Management data? I have about 70 megs of data, and I let it delete it for about 20 minutes but it only looked hung up. I restarted and the data is still there... I burned the update to a disk and been running it for almost an hour, still processing... I'm curious how long it will take you

If you're using the CD-R method (burned disc) to update the firmware of your Sammy player, it should not take more than five minutes (10 at most).
...Perhaps even less. After about 20 minutes or so, I would check if indeed the firmware update took place. |

Yes I burned the RUF file to a CD-R and ran the update sequence but, it's stuck at "Processing..." again - after 2 hours I called 1-800-SAMSUNG, the guy said to leave it overnight and call in again if it's still not done by tomorrow...
I can't believe that I'm the only one with this problem on the forums, either it's working for everyone else or no one has the same BD player ![]() ![]() |

![]() Well, you did the right thing (I think ![]() ![]() And me think that you do need to disconnect the Ethernet cable, any USB stick, and disable the Internet feature from your Menu Setup. * By the way, you did burn that CD-R from an uncompressed ISO image file right? You know how to to that properly right? And you also did follow the instructions to the letter on how to update the firmware using that CD-R right, without touching any buttons at all during the entire process? Sleep on it for now, ![]() ![]() Good night, LOTR |

When I check there is usualy just a couple of megs and takes less than 10 secs to delete.
Humor me... 1- Try unplugging the unit for about 1 min...then reconnect and retry... if still no joy... 2-make sure BD-Live is on Allow (Valid Only) and not Allow All Let us know.... |

still no luck - but if figured that yesterday I burned the USB upgrade file (.RUH) to a CD (interestingly it still got read in and verified - processing failed), today I downloaded the proper ISO file, burned the image to a disc, same end result. Called SAMSUNG again, they're sending me the update CD to try.
Now I read that the updates delete the BD Management data, and it seems like my data just doesn't want to delete, (I tried unplugging the unit for hours and checked the BD-Live settings: it's on Allow (Valid only)) maybe that's why the processing stage fails every time. I asked the lady on the phone and she said that this update addresses issues with the Avatar Blu-ray, now the funny thing is that I don't have issues with that title, it plays just fine, so I might just wait until the next update and worry about that one. |

well, I tried resetting it by holding down the fast forward button for 12 secs but nothing has happened, so now I just unplug it (I know it's risky) and turn it back on. When I turn it back on, all the settings are reset, but it's still running on the 2.07 firmware update. Have you done your update yet?

I just did the 2.09 (from 2.07) and I can say one thing, it is the fastest OTN update I've ever experienced. I've gotten used to the updates taking 30 minutes (or more). But not this one. I'd estimate less that 5 minutes total.
Don't see anything on the Samsung site as to what the update addresses, but I can also make the claim that Avatar played just fine for me on 2.07 |

I am in the minority because I don't connect my player 3600 to a network. I update firmware via a USB stick. Never used a firmware CD either. IMO owners of this player with install problems should try using the USB. I'm coming up to a year of owing and never had a issue updating.
(In Canada we don't get netflex, pandora just Youtube) For Canadian users just to use network for updates is a problem waiting to happen. USB is a bit more work but you are 99.9% sure the updates will install ok. |
