Help A Blu Brother Hook Up His 605

Please help, i'm sure someone did a thread before, but i have a specific request....I know my blu brothers can help me out...Going to frys to get
a 605 for $335.00...need a little help hooking it up....want to go uncompressed....Please help guys....Heres what i'm hooking up to it

1. PS3...Just want to get the uncompressed audio....what are settings?
2. Directv HD receiver.....?do i let the audio go thru the hdmi?or do i hook
up the optical cable also...
3. another video game console that will go unamed...but this one i'm hooking
up directly to the tv using componet cable....so i just hook the optical up right?

1. Set PS3 HDMI Audio output to Linear PCM.
2. Audio through HDMI from PS3 to Receiver.
3. yes, optical directly to the Receiver.

and don't spend more than $30 on an hdmi cable.

what about the directv box, only the hdmi, on the optical cause it only goes Dolby 5.1

also, i only have a 5.1 setup, do i set the receiver to 7.1 or 5.1 to receive
the uncompressed audio in 5.1 only?

You can connect the DirectTV using HDMI to the Receiver. This will include audio, so no need for Optical cable. But for whatever reason if you decide to connect directly to the TV, then yes you could use optical for audio. (but HDMI is preferred method)

During setup of the Onkyo you will tell the 605 you are not using "rear" surround speakers. This makes it 5.1

(The Onkyo 605 is 7.1 PCM capable if you ever decide to add two more speakers)
